2009 Season Underway

Charter Oak Pipe Band's preparations for the the 2009 competition season are underway. After a brief but successful 2008 season (1st @ Glasgowlands, 6th @ Hunter Mtn.) COPB is hitting the ground running after a brief break for the holidays. We've started off the new year with a new practice hall and night. From January until the end of May practices will be held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month in the Carriage House at the Rockville Elks Lodge from 8-10PM. In addition to our new digs there's some new music and new talent bubbling up through the group that should make this an exciting year. As always, anyone who wants to play or learn to play bagpipes or drums in a competition pipe band is welcome!

And we're back!

Well, I set this page up at the beginning of the summer as a place holder for future content about our band then I sort of lost track of it as we prepared for the competition season. Now I find that this page is at the top of Google's search results for "Charter Oak Pipe Band" and it contains almost no useful information. I apologize to our thousands of fans who found themselves lost on this little cul-de-sac of the information superhighway. It will be remedied.

The Charter Oak Pipe Band is based in Manchester CT, USA and competes in the EUSPBA at the grade 4 level. COPB was formed in the spring of 2007 from the grade 4 competing units of the Manchester Pipe Band and the Manchester Regional Police & Fire Pipe Band.
